Goodness Precedes Greatness

I am the system. You are the system. We, the system of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, choose goodness. Yes, the system is flawed. Yes, the church is flawed. Yes, Wall Street and Hollywood Boulevard are all fatally flawed. Yes, there will always be those who take the easy way out. But that ain’t your game. Your choice is yours alone. Goodness precedes greatness. Maybe the mother will always have more power than the atomic bomb. Maybe under the skin there is a song of hope and meaning waiting to break free.

Love At First Sight

The other day I was asked, “Do you believe in love at first sight?”. My reply was, “Yes, I actually do!”. My friend looked baffled with my response and she said, “Doesn’t that go against what we as Christians believe in”. She also mentioned, ”Shouldn’t love at first sight be called lust at first sight?”. I replied, “Of course not!”.
Think about it, God commanded us to love one another as I have loved you, so you must love one another. John 13:34. “…as I have loved you?” God loves each and everyone of us with an unconditional love.
1 John 4:7 reads, ”Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God. Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God. Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.
We Christians, are brothers and sisters through Christ, when we see someone for the first time that is also a Born-Again Christian we can’t help but notice the light of God shining through them. There’s an awesome glow about us, that follow’s us everywhere we go.
So the answer is yes, love at first sight is very possible if we see things through God’s eyes and not through our own eyes or of the world.
We must remember love is not a feeling, it’s an act of our will. John 3:16 awesomely demonstrates this, ”For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.
